I'm just wondering why someone has voted this as RUBBISH?
Well I think it is a good picture, changed a little since 59. Does it still have the long narrow and steep path down to the sea?
Well its all been upgraded with proper steps and handrails, but still quite steep. The car park at the top has also beeen extended with the inevitable Voluntary Attendant. I didnt linger.
And someone has built a "house" right on our old campsite at the top. Squatters' rights again no doubt - start with a bird hide and extend it.
Indeed. I believe though that the Government are getting tough with the squatters at Armier Bay, and some "rooms" have just been cleared from some clifftops in Gozo.

Excellent - who actually owns the countryside and beaches? The govt? When it ceased to be British soil I imagine the govt took possession, but here most land is in private ownership (95% of Norman descent, damned foreigners. Lording it - literally - over the locals. Must be where we got the idea from).
Now now. Nothing wrong with us Normans! Anyway don't knock private land tenure, its the basis of stable economies. I imagine the land in Malta is largely private as it always was, even under our sway. Will try to find out about beaches.
I wasn't - just the dispossession by the invading hordes.
It seems land ownership is now two thirds state to one third private. Farmland is very fragmented due to family inheritance. Still not sure about beaches but pretty sure its the government that lets out all the concessions.
