The volunteer is Geoff Palmer. He had long wavy hair and at my fifteenth birthday party mentioned that he had always wanted a crew cut. "Is that all?" I said. "That's easy. I could do that" "Could you really?" he said "Of course" I replied "Some one fetch the nail scissors" To be perfectly honest it didn't turn out all that great but in my own defence I should add, it was my first go. Oh, and his favourite word was zubrick which I understand is Egyptian and rude.

Looks like Marigold Barratt with the large corkscrew (!) and Roddy Robertson standing behind her. Spike, I had forgotten Geoffs favourite word it goes with Shufti doesn't it ?

Yes it does, although in Aden the expression is Shufti feteezhig (probably not spelled like that.) A friend of mine on guard one day arrested an arab who refused to let my friend search him. As he explained to the officer in charge of the guard "Sir, he wouldn't let me shufti his feteezhig. You had to be there.
