Yes I hadn't been to the site since 1973 and it was very moving to revisit somewhere where I was sublimely happy.

Great pictures of the Luqa area though I did not know it myself, and a lot of it still standing after all these years, can understand it being very moving.

I recall coming back from Valletta on Saturday nights and hearing a wall of noise coming from the Mess (honestly, those Oldies...!). On a subsequent posting to RAF Wildenrath, my father became Chairman of the Mess Committee, so I guess he was getting in practice.
