Reminds me of the day when I was on duty in the playground at Verdala and a little girl (Sally someone, I seem to remember) 'galloped' up to me declaiming 'Are you in league with the Sheriff of Nottingham?' She was quite surprised when I replied 'Yes, I am actually, he's my uncle'!! (Not strictly accurate - but the current one was an old friend of my father's and we called him 'Uncle'!) Sorry not to have joined in your game Sally (wherever you are!)

Not a lot of people know this - but Keith Allen, star of stage and screen (at present playing in "Hogarth's Progress" as the older William Hogarth) - and of course Lily Allen's father- went to Verdala in 1960. His autobiog briefly describes his time in Malta (scroll down to chapter 3, page 40) -
