Probably by 1971 the system had changed as the Navy ran down and the RAF was overmanned as usual! At one time there was an RAF primary at Luqa.

Looks like they have had a tidy up, think it had been used as a tip last time I was there.

There was also an infants' school at Safi at one point. As for tipping - it's everywhere you go in the countryside now. (And in the UK I admit).
