Is this path open access? It wasn't there last year. How do you reach it - is the private development now open or is there a way round?

Its open - you can get to it either from the creek front road or from the Piazza by the shopping centre. You are urged to "keep to the path" and avoid "disturbing the residents". I presume once they have finished at the Fort, that and the steps down to the rocks will also be open, but no doubt your tunnels will be closed off.

The focus of the development is for residents and visitors to enjoy the spaces, therefore, the idea is to restore public movement into and around the fort. There is a very interesting network of 18th and 19th century tunnels and underground rooms that are an important part of Malta's military history. These will be integrated into the amenities but plans have not yet been finalised."
