Sometime mid to late fifties, O Great Inquisitor, and certainly by 1959 by which time the landing pontoon wasn't there at either end. It started in 1882 and has recently restarted, mainly for the benefit of tourists. See new pic in Transport.

57 the landing stages Sleima end were just about standing, decking had gone, believe the roof was still on, waited there each morning for the school bus.
